The quietly spoken boy from Stalybridge is a confident passer of the ball and a keen tackler, qualities that have aided his transition to full-back.

Kieran's first experience of life with the first team came in a friendly match, as a second-half sub in Roy Keane’s testimonial match against Celtic on 9 May 2006.

Just five months later, Kieran became one of the elite group of players to score on

his competitive United debut as he notched a dramatic late winner in the Carling Cup tie at Crewe Alexandra.

Further first-team action beckoned in the next round at Southend United and as a right-back in the penultimate Premiership match of the season, away to Chelsea. By then Lee had become captain of the reserves, his performances at that level winning him the 2006/07 Denzel Haroun Reserve Player of the Season award.

Excellent on the ball and cool under pressure, Kieran's key attribute is his ability to perform consistently well at whichever level and position he plays.
